Do you want to know more about the fortress and life in the Middle Ages? The site offers special tours, festivities, activities and even introductory courses in renovation at certain times of the year, for adults but also children. Don’t wait any longer, these programmes were made for you!

Summer site maintenance activities

18th to 31st of July: 2 weeks of discovery of stone professions

From 1st to 14th of August: 2 weeks of discovery of stone professions

From 15th to 28th of August: 2 weeks of discovery of stone professions

 

Animated night tours of the galleries

15th of May, 17th of July, 7th of August and 21st of August

Discover the galleries under the torch lights. Actors are waiting, and you will be immersed in the Middle Ages world for a night. At the end of your tour, you will be offered a drinks party prepared by the international collaborators working on site at that time. Historical tours : European Heritage Days

From the 18th of September, 10 am, to the 19th of September, 5 pm.

Stained glass workshop day

Whatever your technical level and even if you are a beginner, this introductory day to stained glass will allow you to make and take your own stained glass home at the end of the day. Whether you are just starting or getting better, you will follow all the steps of manufacturing. If you wish to create something bigger, several sessions will be necessary. So come and spend a nice, happy day with lunch made by our local caterer “Croustillance” …

 

Forging workshop day

Whatever your technical level and even if you are a beginner, this introductory day to forging will allow you to make and take your own production home at the end of the day. Whether you are just starting or getting better, you will follow all the steps of manufacturing.

 

Forge and decorative ironwork course

From the 17th to the 30th of October

The course taugth is essentially practical and is organised in the form of a training site. Several theoretical sessions will take place during the course: the materials, the blacksmith’s tools, the techniques of extraction and melting. The techniques that are tackled during the course are varied, so that the different steps of manufacturing a wrought-iron object can be studied. You will learn the following techniques: flattening, bending, hot cutting, riveting, hot piercing…
