While in Épinal, why not come and uncover the history of the prints that gave our town such a reputation? During your visit, you can discover the various workshops and machines that are still used today to produce prints, as well as the different steps of production.
You will have the opportunity to discover the place from a new angle thanks to a digital guide that will be given to you upon your arrival. At the end of your visit you will find a large collection of objects in the shop.
Tour with a Histopad® tablet
Since 2016, the printing workshop – Imagerie invites visitors to discover its workshops using an original and innovative tool, the Histopad®. The touch pad tablet is equipped with audio headphones and accompanies you throughout the tour. You can interact with the tablet depending on your interests, as you discover the different rooms, exhibitions and machines. The principle is to immerse yourself with a total immersive experience with the use of this tablet at the forefront of technology, to discover at your own discretion the different areas of the workshop and also to learn about its history and the different stages of producing prints. Thanks to your tablet, you will also recognize the different machines which you will see on you visit as well as how they function.
The functioning of this tablet is based not only on interactivity but it also improves visual reconstruction and reality. Throughout the visit, the Histopad® allows you to play puzzles and guessing games regarding the printing workshop – Imagerie d’Épinal. Thanks to sound and videos on the device your tour will be interactive and might even allow you to view three-dimensional pictures.
The Histopad® is an original and technological guide which brings a different optic to your visit. Kids love it.
Guided tours
Guided tours give you the opportunity to discover the great historical workrooms of the printing workshop – Imagerie d’Épinal, as well as its machinery, some of which are still in operation. You will discover the secrets of prints as well as how they are produced.
Your visit to the site will end in the shop, spread over 300 square metres on the ground floor. You can discover a wide selection of prints and objects related to the printing workshop - Imagerie.
Opening Hours
Each tour lasts nearly an hour. For individuals, self-guiding tours are available every day all year round. The site is closed on Monday mornings, but is open :
- Tuesday to Saturday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. ;
- Sunday 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
